Our Call to Worship

Worship is the way that we acknowledge and give thanks for what is most important in our lives. Prayer and worship link the physical world with the spiritual world. This is why we must place the highest priority on worshiping God with each other every week. We need to do it as best we can while remaining constantly aware that our worship is not perfect, and so we will change it from time to time to make it more perfect. These resources were created during the revision of the Roman Missal in 2011 but can be easily adapted to use as lessons on worship.

Our Call to Worship

Participants will explore the original Latin text known as the Missale Romanum in order to compare and contrast the revisions made to the Roman Missal.

Our Call to Worship

This session will help children understand, first and foremost, the Liturgy. Why we gather, why we celebrate, what it is we are celebrating. As part of that understanding we will teach them the new responses from the Roman Missal, their liturgical and scriptural context. The hope is, that, in time, as the children continue to pray and sing these responses, their experience of the liturgy will deepen.

Learning through Movies

The movies Evan Almighty and Bruce Almighty are excellent artistic expressions of how an encounter with God can change what we believe and transform how we live. Evan Almighty is more appropriate for families with younger children while Bruce Almighty is a little more sophisticated with humor that is a bit off-color at times.
