Stacia McDermott

Stacia McDermott has worked and volunteered in a variety of social service, social justice, and faith formation settings for the past ten years. As a life-long Catholic, her passion for social justice started in college when interning at The National Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice in Chicago. After receiving her degree in social work, she went on to volunteer with Holy Cross Associates working as a part-time youth minister. She was a live-in volunteer at the Hope House Catholic Worker in Dubuque, Iowa then served as the Youth Formation Coodinator at a local parish for 5 years. For the past seven years, she has presented to a wide variety of groups on Catholic social teaching and the Catholic Worker Movement. Most recently she has been a stay-at-home mom of her daughter and twin sons and a freelance writer. Starting August 2012, she will serve as the Peace and Justice Coordinator for Loras College.
