She previously served as as the Director of Religious Education for parishes in Alabama and Texas and as Coordinator for Parish Ministry Support and Coordinator for Advanced Lay Ministry Formation for the Diocese of Sacramento. She holds an M.A. in Catholic Studies from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.
